I received a Graduate scholarship (Queen Elizabeth II) last week and it’s pretty cool. The Queen finally came through for me. Putting in the hard work over 24 years ago finishing up my undergraduate degree in Fine Arts was never about getting good grades. It was about pushing myself as hard as I could to make cool stuff and the learning was built in. Spending 12 hour+ days in a small computer lab and loving every minute of it. Watching music videos and applying Marxist theory to deconstruct their meaning. Spending $10K on a Mac setup in 1995 and teaching myself every app I could get my hands on. If you can find that passion it isn’t work or strife. It’s exhilarating. I feel the same way about where ‘mixed reality’ is going. 3D, Unity becoming more like Flash, hardware getting better and prices coming down. I’m where I need to be.
