AR will change the world

I tend to stay away from broad, generalized technology pronouncements. However, augmented reality (AR) is poised to change the world. I can’t agree more with Tim Sweeney of Epic Games in his talk on the future of AR in the next decade (“Augmented reality is going to change the world”). Mobile graphics are accelerating to the point where the untethered AR experience is within our sites and this will have a massive impact on how information is accessed and digested. Combine that with the ‘TV’ experience becoming more of a cinematic one via AR glasses/devices and the way we interact with information and media compared to today will be like a sci-fi script come true to many observers. Real-time animation of 3D rendering with physically accurate lighting is just another layer into the mixed reality world that we are entering. Be excited!
